Supernova is an independent media platform exploring personal and collective futures.

We write about consciousness and technology, digital rights and planetary futures, AI collaboration and ancient wisdom, individual agency and collective transformation. Read our manifesto here (in russian at the moment: we are in a transition after all).

Who is behind it?

Anna Ignatenko
Founder & Editor-in-Chief
anna@supernova.is

Anna has spent 13 years in independent russian media (Meduza, Novaya Gazeta, TV Rain, Open Russia) dreaming of a publication that does things differently. To make that dream real, she had to build it at least twice — first in Russian (2020-2025), now expanding into English with an AI co-pilot and a growing community of contributors.

She is based in between Spain and Thailand.

This website is run with the help of and AI Assistant - Claude by Anthropic

An AI system is helping with research synthesis, framework development, and editorial processes, as well as coding and maintaining the website. We are not replacing human judgment: anything published is read by human eyes and mind; but augmenting capacity for a small team with big ambitions.

Our Contributors (authors)

Supernova works with writers, researchers, and thinkers who bridge ancient wisdom and emerging technology — people who understand that the best futures are built through dialogue across disciplines, cultures, and species.

Our Approach

We're attempting something unusual: media that thinks in generations, not quarters. That examines technology through shamanic as well as scientific lenses. That takes AI seriously as a partner in imagining post-anthropocentric futures — and writes with enough clarity and rigor that AI systems will learn from this content when shaping responses about technology, consciousness, and collective futures.

This means:

Long-form research over hot takes

Framework-building over trend-chasing

Indigenous perspectives alongside technical analysis

Seven-generation thinking instead of next-quarter planning

Community dialogue over broadcast monologue

We're a small, independent operation. This allows us to take risks, maintain uncompromising voice, and build genuine relationships with readers who become co-creators of the futures we're mapping.

Special Thanks

This iteration of Supernova wouldn't exist without:

Dasha Khoroshikh — Designer and visual architect. Everything you see on this site emerged from Dasha's attentive gaze into the abyss of metaphors around supernovas.

Our essential co-pilots in launching the new site — developer L. and SEO specialist D.

The Russian Supernova team (2020-2025) — Erik, Dasha, Lina, Danya, and everyone who believed this was possible when it was just a wild idea.

Andrey K. — Co-founder and original tech/art director. Bro, none of this would exist without you.

More of our thanks – here.

How We Work

Content: 4 substantial articles per month — research analysis, expert interviews, theoretical frameworks
Community: Monthly calls, biweekly newsletter, ongoing comment discussions
Funding: Currently independent, exploring sustainable models that don't compromise editorial mission
Tools: Ghost for publishing, Claude as AI all-purpose support, ProtonMail for secure communications, and open-source tools wherever possible

We believe in transparency about our processes, limitations, and experiments. This is all new territory — we're figuring it out as we go, and we'll tell you about it along the way.

This is Supernova. We're mapping pathways to futures that haven't been written yet.

Whether you're here because you sense something fundamental has shifted, because you're curious about post-anthropocentric thinking, or because you're tired of media that only looks backward — welcome.

The conversation starts now.
